 Information Minimize

Welcome to Internal Medicine Specialists.  Each of us is a Board Certified Specialist in Internal Medicine, most with training in a subspecialty area of Nephrology (diseases of the kidney), Pulmonary (diseases of the lungs), Gastroenterology (diseases of the digestive system), Endocrinology (diseases of the thyroid and other glands), and Infectious Diseases.

Our goal is to provde you with life-long comprehensive health care.  We place strong emphasis on preventive medicine and on the maintenance of good health.

We value a close personal relationship with our patients.  A special effort is made to explain everything to you regarding your condition, medication, treatment, etc.  If you have any questions, or if something is not clear to you, please do not hesitate to ask.  The best time to talk with your physician is during your scheduled appointment time.

We hospitalize our patients at hospitals that we believe afford our patients with the finest care, and prefer to admit to Touro Infirmary.  Our physicians also attend patients and make rounds in several local nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

In the event of an emergency we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, either at our office, the hospital, or through our exchange.  Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (lab hours are 8:00 to 4:00).  We are closed on weekends and holidays.

 Medical Records Minimize

Your medical records are strictly private.  Be aware that many health insurance plans require periodic review of your chart by their quality review personnel.  For our patients who are being treated for non job-related injuries, we will not give out information to an insurance company or attorney without your authorization.  We are happy to provide other physicians with the records, which will enable them to properly treat your condition.  Record requests and authorizations should be made as far in advance as possible.  There may be a charge for this service.  Unfortunately, we are unable to provide same day copy service.

We will fill out medical forms.  However, this can be a very time consuming process and may involve obtaining a medical release at a cost to the practice.  Therefore, we do charge a small fee to fill out certain medical forms.

 New Patients Minimize

Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes early for your visit to complete the necessary registration information and insurance forms.  This helps keep our doctors on timel.  On your first visit, we prefer to obtain a detailed history and perform a complete physical examination.  Not only do we evaluate your current symptoms, but we also learn about your past health, your family medical history, your stresses, your work, your lifestyle and your diet.  Importantly, your first visit serves as an opportunity for us to become acquainted.  If possible, please bring your medical records with you.
